You Guys Rock

I'd like to thank everyone who contributed to helping out my friend Jeff last month after he lost his home to a fire on Christmas day. I was truly shocked and awed at the overwhelming support via donations, links, and goods offered by the poker blogger community.

I was not expecting anything like the response I got from you guys and I really don't know how to thank you enough. I owe you all a great debt for helping out.

As far as an update on Jeff goes - between online and a few local benefits, we managed to raise around 7K I think. Some amount of this was used for basic immediate needs, and some to pay for an independent insurance adjuster to help Jeff get a better settlement out of his homeowners insurance. The remainder will go towards a down payment on a new home, which he is in search of now.

He is selling the plot of land his previous home was on, and is currently renting an apartment while he searches for a new house.

This could not have been done so quickly without the generosity of you guys, and it has not and will never be forgotten. Thanks again, you guys rock.

I'm glad to hear that your friend is doing better. $7k is a lot and not much at the same time. I wish I could do more but at least it sounds like he's moving in a good direction.

I think it was the perfect amount. It got him back on his feet quickly, and that's all we were trying to do. You did plenty man, thanks.
