Back in the Game

I've taken a number of weeks off from online poker. I just hadn't been feeling it, and was getting bored and playing stupidly. A month off was needed, and felt good. I didn't even let the new Bodog series suck me back in.

Jumped on FT this past weekend for the first time in a while. Saturday night I 4-tabled The Daily Doubles, a 90 man SNG, and the 50-50. Results varied.

Busted out of the SNG around 25th with an ill-timed all-in re-raise. Double B bustout came next, set over set. Came close to bubbling the Double A, again exiting by getting caught with my hand in the cookie jar.

50-50 went a bit better. I learned my lesson from the other bustouts and made sure I was getting it in only post flop and unless I had a very strong post flop had, I was cautious against stacks larger than mine.

Of course, quadrupling up on this hand helped too....

I raised UTG. Queens thinks for a while and I pray for a re-raise. Queens complies. KK flat calls QQ's re-raise and I get really exited. JJ snap calls and I'm now sure that QQ has the other AA, and its AA vs AA vs KK vs QQ. I push, QQ re-pushes and KK and JJ call. AA holds up!!!! It's a miracle. I won a coin flip vs the field!!!!!

I stole like a mad man on the bubble, raising 5 or 6 times in a row and built up an extra 7k or so. Ultimately, I busted at around 80th for something like $100 and a $10 profit for the night. Large stack on my right keeps raising every hand, I push from the BB for 5X more (about 1/2 his stack), he calls with a real hand and I go home. Guess I forgot about my lessons from the other tourneys. Blagh......

I suppose this means I'll be playing the Bodonkey this week and try to knock out Waffles for the T109 bounty.
